On July 4, 2021, Rafael Abraamyan, nicknamed Buffalo, becomes the world MMA champion of the international OPEN FC tournament. Held in Russia, the Armenian "Buffalo" fought for the world title against a Patrick Mbonda (of France). Buffalo won by knockout in the first round and took the BMF featherweight belt!
Buffalo was born in Yerevan, Armenia. In his hearly childhood, his family moved to Russia where he first became interested in karate, boxing and football. As an amatuer, he started his career in MMA in 2010, becoming a two-time champion of Samara MMA. In 2018, Buffalo launched his pro MMA career and later won four victories in a row.
